It's been a tough few days in the headlines for NC State's football team, which will look to bounce back from a 24-10 loss at Mississippi State minus two defensive starters, but elsewhere it has been positive, especially on some of the more popular non-revenue sports with national title aspirations.

There are some pending announcements in basketball, including a list of favorites for three-star center Christ Essandoko from Winston-Salem (N.C.) Prep. He visited NC State over the summer unofficially.
In non-revenue action, a lot of "No. 1" rankings were released Tuesday.
And lastly the Pack baseball team, fresh off its College World Series appearance, appears to be strong once again thanks to some new additions.
