There were a few nuggets from the recruiting trail Monday.

One hoops recruit that has listed NC State in his top six is LJ Thomas from Bull City Prep in Charlotte, N.C., is set to announce his decision this week. An in-state four-star junior defensive tackle, Keith Sampson, is also preparing to narrow down his list soon.

Let's get to the daily newsstand.

In a couple of football items, NC State knows when it'll play Boston College Oct. 16, and the defensive line has earned recognition for its play against Clemson.

The aforementioned Thomas has set an announcement date. Meanwhile, a top class of 2023 target, five-star London Johnson from Norcross (Ga.) High, could be visiting NC State soon.

Sampson, who visited NC State over the weekend, teases when he will release a top 10.

Also in football recruiting, Wolfpack defensive backs coach Brian Mitchell was in Charlotte this past Friday to see offered three-star junior safety Chris Peal from Providence Day.

Finally, swimming has picked up a commitment from a top-50 female swimmer in the 2023 class in Keelan Cotter from Cary, N.C.
