Three-star athlete Trent Pennix commits to NC State
NC State picked up its seventh verbal commitment in the 2018 class by landing three-star athlete Trent Pennix from Raleigh's Sanderson High.
Pennix, 6-foot-2, 205 pounds, rushed 167 times for 1,215 yards and 12 touchdowns in 11 games played last year. He also added 11 catches for 255 yards and two more scores, and tallied 21 tackles and an interception on defense. Pennix just finished the track season, where he ran a personal-best 11.2 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
He also reported offers from Boston College, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Wake Forest and West Virginia, among others. Rivals.com rates him the No. 34 running back in the 2018 class and the No. 25 rising senior in the state.
