Letter of intent No. 4: Three-star offensive tackle Gabriel Gonzalez

Measurables:

At a Nike Camp in Charlotte checked in at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds and was laser-timed in the 40-yard dash at 5.15 seconds … Had a 4.77-second shuttle time, a 40.0-foot power ball throw and 30.7-inch vertical leap for an overall Nike rating of 81.96, fifth best among offensive linemen in attendance.

Ratings:

• Rivals.com: Three stars and No. 45 player in the state.

• 247Sports: Three stars, No. 90 offensive tackle in the country and No. 35 player in the state.

• ESPN: Three stars, No. 85 offensive tackle in the country and No. 27 player in the state.

Fayetteville Observer: No. 41 player in the state.

Honors/accomplishments:

• Selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas All-Star Game where he started at right tackle.

• Invited to participate in the Blue-Grey All-American Game on Jan. 6 in Tampa, Fla.

• Picked to NCPreps.com All-State team.

• Was a three-year starter.

Recruitment:

Was offered by NC State just before the spring evaluation period began, his first Power Five Conference offer.

During the spring evaluation period would add offers from Duke, Minnesota, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Verbally committed to the Wolfpack on June 24 over finalists Duke, ECU and Virginia Tech.
