Talk about re-signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It was a dream-type situation. It's a great organization to play for, a great head coach to play for, a wonderful quarterback and there's just wonderful guys in the locker room. Having that opportunity to go back to the Steelers, it was something I wanted to get done.
You spent the first part of your career with the Jets before playing last year with the Steelers. What were the main difference between playing for the two clubs?
I don't want to compare the two. I enjoyed my time in New York, the fans were great to me and the organization was great to me. I'm always thankful for that time. I will always cherish that time and remember it, my wife will, as well, we'll remember the area. Now, I'm in Pittsburgh and I'm definitely embracing this situation I'm in.
You're at the former players reunion, is this something that you have gotten to come to often?
Yes, I have. I missed it last year, so I had to make sure I made it down here this year. It's just awesome to be a part of this and be able to interact with the young guys that are playing now, interact with some of the former players before me and some of the guys that I played with. It's just a blast to be around everybody.
The spring game is coming up tomorrow, talk about what you're looking forward to seeing out there.
Just the continued improvement of this team. They've done well every year and they continue to get better. Last year was probably the best year they had health-wise, so I'm looking forward to them continuing to be healthy and continuing to build on what they've built. It's just exciting to watch them every time I come down.
Do you still follow NC State pretty closely?
I do, I do. I follow it all, the bass fishing and everything. I love it, I love the fans down here, my wife is from North Carolina so I consider it home, as well. It's always fun to come down here. I follow everything about NC State.
Any message for the Pack fans?
Pack fans, thank you. Thank you for the time I spent here, the way you embraced me, it was just a wonderful time. I'm looking forward to interacting with you guys every year.
