In a perfect world in which the college football season goes off on time, Saturday, June 13 marks 82 days until NC State’s season and ACC opener against Louisville, a Thursday night road game that will likely be nationally televised.
Each day, The Wolfpacker will do a countdown to the season with a reflection on the significance of that number to NC State.
#82- Max Fisher
Career: Max Fisher enters the 2020 season as a redshirt junior after making appearances in 13 games the past two years.
After redshirting his freshman season in 2017, Fisher earned an appearance in five games in 2018, most of which on special teams.
As a redshirt sophomore last year, Fisher found the field in every game that he was healthy. In eight appearances, number 82 caught three receptions for 46 yards. He also had a punt block on special teams in the win over Ball State.
Background: Fisher comes from Gonzaga College High in Upper Marlboro, Md.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 190-pounds out of high school, Fisher was considered a two-star prospect by Rivals.com.
The pass-catcher from Maryland picked NC State over other notable offers from Wake Forest, Indiana, UConn and Boston College.
Fun Fact: Fisher had a one-handed catch in a high school football game in 2015 that was featured as the No. 2 play on ESPN's Sportscenter Top-10 plays.
