NC State football held its Pro Day on Tuesday.
Jim Nagy of the Senior Bowl provided the measurables for defensive tackle Alim McNeill and tight end Cary Angeline.
The Wolfpacker also was also able to gather the results for center/guard Joe Sculthorpe.
For McNeill, who was invited to the NFL Combine that was not held this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his sub 5.0-second 40-yard dash stands out. In 2019, only 10 of 33 interior defensive linemen at the combine ran under that mark.
His bench press numbers (27 reps) would have tied for ninth best in 2020 among all defensive linemen (interior and edge linemen were not separated that season). Ironically, two that would have done better were McNeill's former Wolfpack teammates Larrell Murchison (29 reps) and James Smith-Williams (28 reps).
Both Murchison and Smith-Williams were picked last year, and McNeill is almost a certainty to join them when the draft begins April 29 and ends May 1. McNeill was an All-American nose tackle this fall after logging 26 tackles, including 4.5 for loss and a sack, and a memorable pick-six (at Virginia). He chose to leave NC State after his junior season.
Here were results for Angeline, the former USC transfer who hauled in 27 receptions for 412 yards and six scores a year ago:
And here are the unofficial results for Sculthorpe, who like Angeline chose to bypass the chance for a repeat senior season in order to pursue a professional career:
