NC State signee Treymane Parker elects to remain at Overtime Elite

NC State signee Treymane Parker of Fayetteville, N.C., has elected to remain with Overtime Elite in Atlanta for a second year.

Parker had signed with the Wolfpack last November. but will be free to get recruited by other colleges. The Rivals.com four-star prospect picked NC State over offers from Kansas State and Mississippi State, among others after a whirlwind recruitment.

Parker enjoyed a breakout senior year with Overtime Elite, playing with NBA Draft lottery picks Ausar Thompson and Amen Thompson. He was recently named the MVP of the Josh Level Classic on May 20, but declined to talk about his NC State plans following the game.

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Parker has struggled to find stability since his freshman year of high school, but seemingly has found it with Overtime Elite. He started off at Fayetteville (N.C.) Cape Fear High his freshman year, and it was clear he would be a future high-major player. He then transferred to Fayetteville New Life Christian Academy his sophomore year, and lost some mometum.

Parker joined Vertical Academy in the Charlotte area in 2021-22, which featured class of 2023 guard Mikey Williams, who has signed with Memphis. With Williams having over a million Instagram followers at the time (now 3.8 million), it led to Parker becoming a social media influencer. Parker currently has over 440,000 Instagram followers.

Parker also found a home on Boo Williams traveling team in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League last spring and summer, which showcased his talents for college coaches.

Parker's departure from the class of 2023, leaves NC State with freshman forward Dennis Parker of Richmond (Va.) John Marshall High. The Wolfpack in theory could add another player this summer or perhaps a player at mid-semester, but will likely be judicious with the extra scholarship.

NC State has a verbal commitment from senior wing Paul McNeil of Rockingham (N.C.) Richmond Senior High, and have room for at least three other prospects in the class of 2024, if Parker isn't included.
