Due to a positive COVID test and quarantine protocols, the Pack is severely shorthanded with just 13 available players against Vanderbilt in a game that is delayed till 3:07 first pitch on ESPN2.

Highfill gets thrown out at second by the catcher for out No. 1.
Giles strikes out swinging for the second out, but Eisert reaches second on a wild pitch.

One Vandy batter reaches base after he's hit by a pitch, but Payne gets out of the inning with no hits or runs allowed. He's likely done for the day, and he gave up just two hits and no earned runs.

Vojtech Mensik hits a double down the left-field line that is clearly fair, but it's called foul on the field. The call is then correctly overturned. But after an argument by Vanderbilt coach Tim Corbin, the overturn is overturned. Mensik goes back to the plate and strikes out swinging.
Carson Falsken strikes out swinging for out No. 3.
