NC State makes strong impression on Derrik Smits
Valparaiso graduate center Derrik Smits started his official visit to NC State on Friday and departed early Saturday evening.
The 7-foot-1, 245-pounder came away impressed with his first look at the Wolfpack, but will hold off on a college decision until he officially visits all three schools remaining on his list. The son of former Indiana Pacers great Rik Smits, he will officially visit Arizona State on Wednesday and Thursday and likely Butler over the weekend. NC State is seeking a center with the departure of redshirt junior Wyatt Walker.
