NC State lands four-star Kelvin Harmon

NC State came close to getting four-star receiver Kelvin Harmon from Palmyra (N.J.) High when he made his first decision in September. The Pack was Harmon’s runner-up when he picked South Carolina.

Then Steve Spurrier resigned. After the coaching change that saw Will Muschamp hired in Columbia, S.C., Harmon opened up his recruitment. This time the Wolfpack got their man. Harmon chose NCSU over Miami Monday evening.

Harmon, 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, is rated the No. 7 senior in New Jersey and No. 54 receiver nationally by Rivals.com. He caught 66 passes for 1,111 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior.

Harmon had officially visited NC State Sept. 11 and took a trip to Miami last weekend. He becomes the Wolfpack’s 23rd verbal commitment in the 2016 class and third wideout. Harmon is the second four-star to pick NCSU, joining tight end Thaddeus Moss from Charlotte Mallard Creek.
