NC State gets started on Pack15

One of the advantages of wrapping up a class a few weeks before signing day is it gives a program a head start on the juniors. NCSU got a big jump on its 2015 class by landing a verbal commitment Sunday from three-star athlete Malik Douglas of Southport (N.C.) South Brunswick High, as first reported by The Wolfpacker.
Douglas confirmed the news with The Wolfpacker Sunday afternoon.

Douglas had flown under the radar of recruiting services, but not NC State or his region. Wolfpack running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Des Kitchings first spotted Douglas last spring, and when Douglas, 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, impressed during NC State's camp last summer, he immediately became a target for the Pack.
Douglas had ran the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds there and had a 10-10 standing broad jump.
As a junior, Douglas piled up 71 tackles, including 16 sacks, five forced fumbles, three pass breakups and a blocked punt, earning unanimous all-conference honors for a winless South Brunswick squad. He also
He had picked up an offer from Charlotte and is rated a three-star recruit by Rivals.com. He would become the second South Brunswick grad to play at NC State in recent history. Reserve defensive tackle A.J. Ferguson just completed his eligibility in 2013.
