NC State coach Dave Doeren has said this week that the Wolfpack were a few plays away from throwing for over 400 yards against Western Carolina.

Doeren pointed to three passing plays Thursday in the lead up to playing No. 14-ranked Tennessee on Saturday as teachable moments. Even as simply as two plays would have easily helped senior quarterback Grayson McCall improve upon his 318 yards in his first game for the Wolfpack.
