NC State has confirmed that sophomore linebacker Michael Peek has left the Wolfpack football team.

The 6-foot-2, 222-pounder from Grayson, Ga., played as a true freshman in 13 games during the 2011 season and recorded seven tackles, including a sack, but missed this past year with a torn ACL.

He opened fall practices listed as the second-string weakside linebacker before suffering the injury.
