George Bryan named to John Mackey Award watch list

NC State announced Monday afternoon that redshirt junior tight end George Bryan has been named to the preseason 'watch' list for the 2010 John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation's top tight end. The Castle Hayne, N.C., native was named to the award's midseason list in 2009.
Bryan was a first-team All-ACC performer in 2009, and he was also named preseason All-ACC in 2010. He caught 40 passes for 422 yards and six touchdowns. Bryan was State's second-leading receiver and also ranks fourth among all active ACC receivers with 10 career touchdown receptions.
