Cowher out; coaching rumor mill

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher confirmed with the media Wednesday afternoon that he would not be a candidate for the NC State head coaching job.
"I'm very flattered and I've heard some of the things that have been coming out but I'm not a candidate," Cowher said following practice Wednesday at the Steelers' South Side facility.

"You can take me off the list," Cowher said of the NC State job. "I am flattered. It's a super program and I'm sure they'll get a very qualified coach that's going to walk into a good situation."
Cowher had been considered NC State's top choice after it fired head coach Chuck Amato Sunday. Cowher reportedly has turned down numerous contract extensions with the Steelers, prompting speculation he would leave after this season.
With that said, there is still a vacancy that must be filled. The Wolfpacker takes a look at who is still on the board in its daily rumor mill.
