Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage High coach Mike Smith has seen plenty of elite players come through the school.

Smith has been at American Heritage in some capacity for 10 years, but is entering his first year as head coach. He knows NC State landed a quality prospect Monday in senior free safety Daemon Fagan.
