West Charlotte (N.C.) High coach Sam Greiner is no stranger to talent.

Greiner took over the Lions program last year and knew he had a talent in lineman Darion Rivers. The key was to figure where the best spot was for him. He played both tackle and defensive end for West Charlotte, and along the way piqued the interest of NC State offensive line coach John Garrison and coach Dave Doeren.
