Audio: Debbie Yow breaks down Tom OBrien decision
NC State athletic director Debbie Yow simply said she wants the Wolfpack building to be a top 25 program and didn't feel coach Tom O'Brien had it going in the right direction.
Yow met with O'Brien this afternoon in a follow-up to her previous meeting on Friday to see what he thought the program was heading. Yow knew it was time despite a 7-5 mark this season and bowl games in four of the last six years.

The coaching staff and players learned the news and Yow talked at a team meeting around 3 p.m. She also added that the players in NC State's No. 31-ranked recruiting class per Rivals.com will have their scholarships honored.
