Sometime around 15 years ago new NC State assistant coach Adam Howard met his future boss Will Wade on the recruiting trail.

Howard was a graduate assistant at Morehead State, and then became a full-time assistant coach from 2010-12 under head coach Donnie Tyndall. He was out recruiting and Wade approached him out of the blue. Wade was an assistant coach at VCU under Shaka Smart during that time period.
