Ismael Diouf had always dreamed of playing college basketball in the United States, but at one point in time, it looked like it might not happen.

The 6-foot-9, 215-pound Diouf grew up in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, which is about 30 minutes southeast of Montreal, Quebec in Canada.
