Some thoughts for this week:
• The addition of former North Carolina/Georgetown forward Dontrez Styles filled the second of at least four spots on the roster, and also showed numerous trends that could dictate how the Wolfpack fill the last two slots.
• NC State safeties coach Joe DeForest has become part of a saying — "Death, taxes and Joe DeForest getting safeties."
• The football transfer portal this week was a little bit of a letdown, but NC State can still feel some key needs.
