Notes

Presbyterian overview: Former Wofford assistant coach Dustin Kearns has taken over the Blue Hose.

Five Presbyterian players went to high school in North Carolina, including starters Davon Bell of Charlotte Northside Christian and fifth-year shooting guard Reggie Dillard, who played with NCSU fifth-year guard Sam Hunt at Greensboro Dudley, before making the move to Greensboro Day.

Presbyterian fell 88-53 to Tennessee last Friday, and then topped Johnson University 107-87 last Saturday to open the season.

KenPom.com has Presbyterian ranked No. 343 overall out of 351 teams.

Backcourt: The Bell and Dillard duo give the Blue Hose plenty of experience, and sophomore Younger is essentially a second wing, who provides some rebounding punch.

Dillard was a standout for three years with the Chris Paul All-Stars and was regarded as a rugged defender, who can get streaky hot from the perimeter. He burst on to the scene his freshman year, averaging 12.1 points per game and he shot 42.1 percent from three-point land.

Dillard tore his ACL his second year, but he bounced back to play 1,851 minutes the following two years. He averaged 9.8 points and 3.5 assists per game last year, but his three-point shooting dipped to 31.9 percent, compared to his freshman year form.

Dillard had 25 points in the win over Johnson University, but struggled with just two points and five turnovers against Tennessee.

Bell was part of Team Charlotte, which was coached by former North Carolina and NBA point guard Jeff McInnis. He won three-consecutive titles at Northside Christian.

The speedy guard averaged 6.9 points and 3.4 assists per game last year, but shot just 22.2 percent from beyond the arc. He lit up Tennessee for 20 points and followed up with 22 points and five steals against Johnson.

Younger provides three-point shooting for the Blue Hose, shooting 36.1 percent last year en route to 12.0 points per game. He had 17 points and nine rebounds against Johnson.

Senior wing Jaron Withers started his prep career at Walnut Cove (N.C.) South Stokes High and finished up at Fayetteville Academy. The 6-4, 200-pounder started the season opener and is averaging 2.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 22 minutes per game.

Junior Montenia Nelson, who is 6-1 and 180 pounds, comes off the bench to average 1.0 points and 2.0 assists in 12.0 minutes per game.

Frontcourt: Lewis started his college career at Florida A&M before making his way to College of Central Florida junior college.

Lewis off to a nice start at Presbyterian, scoring 10 points and grabbing five rebounds against Tennessee, and following up with 19 points and nine boards against Johnson. He had average 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game for FAMU in 2015-2016.

Arroyo, who is from Puerto Rico, averaged 5.2 points and 3.1 rebounds per game last year. He had eight points and four rebounds in 20 minutes against Tennessee, and earned his first start against Johnson.

Sophomore forward Jo’Vontae Millner has been limited to just seven minutes in two games. The 6-6, 205-pounder, who attended Burlington (N.C.) Cummings, averaged 10.8 points and 5.6 rebounds last year, and he shot 32.4 percent from three-point land.

Sophomore center Armel TeTe attended Fayetteville Northwood Temple Academy, which is where current NC State senior signees Ian Steere and Immanuel Bates are from. TeTe played with former Clemson center Sidy Djitte at Northwood Temple. He averaged 2.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 11.2 minutes of action last year. TeTe has three points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes of action through two contests for the Blue Hose this season.
