NC State football gets commitment from local junior lineman

Raleigh Wakefield offensive lineman Timothy McKay announced on Twitter on Saturday that he has verbally committed to NC State. McKay was at NCSU for a junior day.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound McKay picked up an offer from NC State last summer after camping in Raleigh, and he later added one from Duke before his junior season started. He is the younger brother of NC State freshman quarterback Matt McKay, who redshirted last fall for the Pack and is line to potentially be the backup signal caller this fall.

McKay joins long snapper Drew Little from North Stanly High in New London, N.C., as NC State's two verbal pledges in the 2019 class. Rivals.com rates McKay No. 27 overall in the state of North Carolina in the class of 2019 in its early top 45 rankings.
