Some thoughts for this week:
• The transfer portal started in football on Wednesday, and NC State has a few needs, but also have been smart with its portal strategy this spring.
• The basketball portal continues to rage on and NC State has had a few visits so far, but this has been a quiet week. That is expected to change, and soon.
• The traveling team basketball scene has taken off with Rock Hill, S.C., and The Wolfpack Central is seeing most of the top prep players in the Carolinas.
