Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Western High senior athlete Teshaun Smith unofficially visited NC State on Friday, and didn’t take long to verbally commit to the Wolfpack.

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Smith has earned at least 16 offers, including Power Five Conference offers from NC State, Pittsburgh, Kentucky and Vanderbilt. He also has offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Central Florida, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Massachusetts, Ohio, South Florida, Toledo and Valdosta State.

The Rivals.com three-star prospect attended Fort Lauderdale Westminster Academy last year, where he played wide receiver, cornerback and kick returner.

Smith estimated he had 24 receptions for 420 yards, 722 all-purpose yards and 35 tackles with two interceptions and two pass break-ups last year. Smith ran a 4.57-second 40-yard dash and recently attended the Rivals.com 3 Stripes Camp in Miami.

Smith plans to major in computer science and was joined by his family on his unofficial to NC State.

The addition of Smith gives the Wolfpack 10 verbal commitments, including potentially two cornerbacks, with Appomattox (Va.) County senior De'Von Graves the other commit.
