Almost two weeks after making an unofficial visit to NC State, three-star running back Erin Collins from Seffner (Fla.) Armwood High has announced his verbal commitment to NC State on twitter.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Collins had previously unveiled a top five that also included offers from Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota and South Carolina. He visited NCSU on July 18-19 unofficially.

Collins, who was recruited by running backs coach/assistant head coach for offense and recruiting coordinator Des Kitchings, becomes the 15th verbal commitment in the class and seventh from the state of Florida. He is the second Sunshine State runner, joining Nakia Robinson from Miami Jackson High.

At Armwood, Collins is part of a three-headed monster at running back that also includes four-star class of 2018 Ohio State commitment Brian Snead. Collins ran 81 times for 688 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 17 passes for 442 yards and five more scores.

Armwood reached the 6-A state title game and went 14-1 last year.
