NC State redshirt junior forward Torin Dorn will put his name in the NBA Draft, but is not hiring an agent, he informed the The Wolfpacker.
Dorn averaged 13.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last season for NC State and shot 53.1 percent from the field. He was second on the team in both scoring and rebounding.
By not hiring an agent, Dorn leaves open the possibility of rejoining NC State if he is not pleased with the feedback from NBA teams on his stock. The deadline to enter the draft is April 22 and the NBA combine will be May 16-20 in Chicago.
Players have until May 30 to meet the NCAA deadline to withdraw from the draft and return to college. Dorn joins sophomore center Omer Yurtseven in entering the draft. However, Yurtseven has also requested his release to pursue a potential transfer, presumably closing the door on returning to NC State.
The avenue Dorn is pursuing is used by many players in college basketball. After the 2015-16 season, both Abdul-Malik Abu and BeeJay Anya put their names in and then returned to NC State.
