Raven Saunders commits to NC State

NC State received a significant commitment Saturday afternoon when three-star linebacker Raven Saunders from West Palm Beach, Fla., verbally committed. He announced his pledge on Twitter while in the middle of an weekend unofficial visit.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Saunders previously played at Oxbridge Academy before transferring to Dwyer High, the same program that produced former NCSU starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett and expected starting safety Shawn Boone, currently a junior at State.

Saunders also reported offers from Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Pittsburgh and Temple among others before picking the Wolfpack. He is rated the No. 19 inside linebacker nationally in the 2017 class and the No. 76 rising senior in the state of Florida by Rivals.com.

He is the fifth pledge in NC State's class and first from outside of the state of North Carolina.

The Wolfpacker will have more from Saunders commitment.
