Pair of Wolfpackers honored by ACC

For the second straight week, NC State had players honored by the ACC. Last week linebacker Audie Cole was named the conference's defensive back of the week after his stellar performance at Central Florida Sept. 11.
This time two different Wolfpackers were honored by the league. Redshirt junior quarterback Russell Wilson was named the ACC Offensive Back of the Week while true freshman running back Mustafa Greene was selected as the Rookie of the Week.

Wilson completed 26 of 40 passes for 333 yards and three touchdowns without an interception in the Pack's 30-19 win over Cincinnati Sept. 16. It was Wilson's sixth career 300-yard plus performance and the ninth time he has thrown at least three scores. The ACC also noted that 17 of Wilson's completions went for first downs, and he completed passes to 11 different receivers.
Greene ran 16 times for 84 yards, including a 31-yard touchdown, and caught five passes for 54 yards against Cincinnati. He led the Pack in both rushing yards and receptions in the win over the Bearcats. He is the first Wolfpack freshman running back since Joe McIntosh in 1981 to rush for a touchdown in his first three games.
Also honored by the league was Florida State senior guard Rodney Hudson at Florida State as offensive lineman, Georgia Tech sophomore defensive end Izaan Cross as defensive lineman, Virginia Tech corner Rashad Carmichael as defensive back and Georgia Tech senior kicker Scott Blair as specialist.
