Lockett began his college career at George Mason, but suffered a season-ending injury after five games. He transferred to Chipola Junior College in Florida, and averaged 7.3 points, 6.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game, with the squad going 17-13.

The 6-5, 193-pounder from Warner Robins, Ga., made the move to Florida International and had a productive last two years before graduating. FIU hired former VCU assistant coach Jeremy Ballard this offseason, but Lockett decided to move on from the Golden Panthers.

Lockett averaged 5.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in his first season at Florida International, but blossomed this past season into the team's third-leading scorer. He averaged 14.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 37.0 minutes of action. He shot 46.6 percent from the field, but struggled from beyond the arc (14 of 48 on three-pointers).

Lockett, who had five double-doubles for points and rebounds, particularly enjoyed playing against Charlotte. He had a season-high 30 points, making 15 of 18 free throws in a 79-59 win Jan. 20. He then had 24 points and eight boards in the rematch, an 89-83 win March 1.

Lockett only played one opponent from a Power Five Conference, but he made it count with 21 points and five rebounds in a 78-61 loss vs. South Carolina on Nov. 27.
