NC State football commits in the final state rankings

Rivals.com has completed its rankings update for the 2018 class by releasing the final editions of each state’s top players.

NC State signed 10 prospects from the state of North Carolina, and nine of them were rated among the top 50, with the lone exception being kicker Christopher Dunn from North Davidson High in Lexington, N.C. Here are the final rankings for the nine:

5. Running back Ricky Person, Heritage High in Wake Forest

8. Linebacker Payton Wilson, Orange High in Hillsborough

11. Defensive lineman Alim McNeill, Sanderson High in Raleigh

25. Running back Trent Pennix, Sanderson High in Raleigh

29. Defensive end Joseph Boletepeli, Heritage High in Wake Forest

30. Receiver Devin Carter, Clayton High

36. Safety Malik Dunlap, Harding High in Charlotte

40. Safety/nickel Tyler Baker-Williams, Southeast Raleigh High

49. Offensive lineman Gabriel Gonzalez, Eastern Alamance High in Mebane

In addition, both of NC State’s commits from New Jersey were ranked in their home state's top 20:

6. Quarterback Devin Leary, Timber Creek High in Sicklerville

17. Receiver Jasiah Provillon, Irvington High

Four-star athlete De’Von Graves, who has already enrolled at NC State and is from Appomattox (Va.) County High, is ranked No. 6 in the state of Virginia.

NC State also has a commitment from defensive lineman Derrick Eason from Norview High in Norfolk, Va. Eason is ranked No. 25 in Virginia. He officially visited Notre Dame this past weekend.

Top Wolfpack target Taiyon Palmer, a corner from Archer High in Lawrenceville, Ga., is listed at No. 45 in the Peach State. He officially visited NC State Jan. 19 and Tennessee Jan. 26.
