Marshall had several opportunities to answer NC State's score. A kickoff return for a touchdown was wiped away by a holding penalty. NCSU starts second half with long touchdown drive (8:14 p.m.)

The long drive consumed 7:02 off the clock and took 13 plays. NCSU reached the one where it faced a fourth and goal. Redshirt junior quarterback Ryan Finley led an option play and pitched to junior Reggie Gallaspy for the one-yard score.

Two-minute offense puts Pack on top (7:41 p.m.)

After forcing a three-and-out by the Marshall, the Pack drove 82 yards in 1:21 to grab a go-ahead touchdown with 16 seconds left. Redshirt junior quarterback Ryan Finley found sophomore wideout Kelvin Harmon on a 34-yard touchdown to put NCSU up.

The extra point by redshirt junior Carson Wise was no good however, and NCSU leads 23-20 at halftime.

The Pack will get the ball to start the second half, which will begin around 8:03 p.m.

Pack uses trickery to score touchdown (7:24 p.m.)

A reverse, flea flicker led to a 39-yard touchdown pass from redshirt junior quarterback Ryan Finley to senior H-back Jaylen Samuels.

Prior to the drive, Samuels had been held to -1 yard of total offense. He ran twice for 13 yards and caught two passes for 38 yards on the 80-yard scoring drive.

Big plays killing NC State defense (7:18 p.m.)

NC State's offense was held to 93 yards on its first four drives, 46 of them coming on a redshirt junior quarterback Ryan Finley keeper. The Pack's fifth drive though went the distance, going 68 yards for a touchdown.

Finley found redshirt junior receiver Stephen Louis twice, one for 23 yards and the second time for a 25-yard score after Louis broke multiple Marshall tackles on third and 7.

Marshall leads 13-10 with 5:26 to go before halftime.

Marshall grabs the lead (6:30 p.m.)

Junior quarterback Chase Litton and redshirt junior receiver Tyre Brady connected four times for 77 yards on an 85-yard touchdown scoring drive, but it was redshirt freshman Willie Johnson who caught the one-yard TD to put Marshall up 7-3 with 6:23 to go in the first quarter.

Brady had receptions of 33 and 25 yards during the drive, and his 15-yard haul gave Marshall a first down on 3rd and 12.

NC State strikes first (6:15 p.m.)

After the Wolfpack defense forced a Marshall punt, redshirt junior quarterback Ryan Finley had a career-long 46-yard run on the Pack's first offensive play of the game to set up what would be a 31-yard field goal to put NC State up 3-0 with 10:15 to go in the first quarter.

Changes at safety (6:02 p.m.)

Redshirt junior free safety Dexter Wright (groin) is out for Saturday's game and will be replaced in the starting lineup by sophomore Tim Kidd-Glass. NC State has also elevated redshirt freshman Isaiah Stallings to the starting lineup over redshirt sophomore Jarius Morehead at strong safety.

It is the first career starts for both Kidd-Glass and Stallings.
