Reportedly ran the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds.

• Senior: Piled up 53 tackles, three interceptions, 18 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two recoveries.

• Junior: Made 24 catches for 420 yards and three scores and had 34 tackles, two interceptions, two pass breakups and a forced fumble at Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

• 247Sports: Three stars, No. 100 cornerback in the country and No. 188 player in the state.

• ESPN: Three stars, No. 57 athlete in the country and No. 128 player in the state.

Honors/accomplishments:

• Named first-team all-county in 2017 and honorable mention in 2016 by the Sun-Sentinel.

• Played at Westminster Academy before transferring to Western High for his senior season.

• Helped Western win its school’s first ever state playoffs game when team reached quarterfinals of 8A (largest classification) tournament.

• As a junior was second-team all-state for independents school as an all-purpose player by Floridahsfootball.com.

Picked up 16 offers, including Power Five schools Kentucky, NC State, Pittsburgh and Vanderbilt, by the summer.

Verbally committed to NCSU on June 23 while on an unofficial visit.

Smith is a very intriguing talent in this class, and he walks into a wide-open situation at corner. However, Smith will likely need to get stronger before he’s ready to play.
