The standout two-way player was named the Kinston Free Press Defensive Player of the Year as a junior after tallying 79 tackles, seven sacks, seven forced fumbles, five recovered fumbles, five blocked kicks and 15 quarterback hurries. He was also named all-conference for his efforts and started on the offensive line.
