George Byran named semifinalist to Mackey Award

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State redshirt junior George Bryan has been named one of eight national semifinalists for the 2010 Mackey Award, which is awarded annually to the nation's top tight end. Bryan, a native of Castle Hayne, N.C., is currently ranked third on the team with 27 receptions for 308 yards and three scores.
Bryan, a first-team All-ACC performer in 2009, was named to the midseason `watch' list for the award in 2009. He was named to the Preseason All-ACC team, and is the only player from the conference on the Mackey Award semifinalist list.

For his career, Bryan owns 85 catches for 931 yards and 13 scores.
Three finalists will be announced on Nov. 22, with the winner being presented on Dec. 9.
