Video highlights: Juco star Chris Jones

Memphis native Chris Jones has attracted coast-to-coast recruiting interest following his strong freshman year at Niceville (Fla.) Northwest Florida State College, where he led the Raiders to a 27-2 record and runner-up finish in the country.

The former Tennessee signee was ranked No. 47 in the class of 2011, but ended up in the junior college ranks playing for former Volunteers assistant coach Steve Forbes. Jones averaged 18 points, five assists and four rebounds for Northwest Florida State College.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder played at Memphis Melrose High, and then transferred to Oak Ridge (N.C.) Military Academy, but departed the program in late January 2011. He averaged 22.5 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals per game in 28 contests for Oak Ridge. He finished up at Brittain Academy in Charlotte.

NC State, Louisville, Florida State, Baylor, Kansas, UCLA, South Carolina, Pittsburgh, Marquette, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State and others have started to show interest in the high-scoring point guard. NCSU assistant coach Rob Moxley is recruiting him for the Wolfpack.
