J.R. Sweezy excited about next season

Every season yields a breakout performer or two. One of the stars of the Pack's defense in 2010 was defensive tackle J.R. Sweezy.

The 6-foot-5, 293-pound fifth-year senior was a force in his first full season as a starter. He led all defensive linemen with 46 tackles, 13 tackles for losses and six sacks. He also added six quarterback hurries, forced a fumble and recovered two and broke up three passes.

College Football Performance Awards named Sweezy co-Defensive Lineman Performer of the Week after he made 10 tackles, four of them for loss and two sacks, and forced a fumble during a 14-13 loss at Clemson Nov. 6. He was also named honorable mention All-ACC after the season.
