Max Fisher joins NC State commitment parade

NC State has landed its third wide receiver in the class of 2017.

Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga High senior wide receiver Max Fisher verbally committed to the Wolfpack on Sunday. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder joins fellow wide receivers Emeka Emezie of Waxhaw (N.C.) Marvin Ridge and Antoine Thompson of Plant City (Fla.) High.

The two-star Fisher unofficially visited NC State for the Alpha Wolf Showcase on July 22, and called the school a “special place.”He picked the Wolfpack over Indiana, Boston College and Wake Forest, among others, and confirmed the news Tuesday.

Fisher, who was recruited to NC State by cornerbacks coach George Barlow, earned scholarship offers from NCSU, Ball State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, Connecitcut, Eastern Michigan, Howard, Indiana, James Madison, Kent State, Liberty, Robert Morris, Toledo, Towson, Wake Forest and Western Michigan.

Fisher is the 16th verbal commitment in NC State's class of 2017. Rivals.com ranks the class No. 34 nationally in the country.
