Former Nebraska quarterback Harrison Beck, granted a release from his scholarship Monday, has quickly landed on his feet according to a report in the Lincoln Journal Star this afternoon. He will transfer to NC State.

"He just wanted to get out there and get started," Beck's former high school coach John Davis said Friday confirming the news to the Journal Star.

Beck, 6-foot-1, 205 pounds, was rated as the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the country from the Class of 2005 by Rivals.com.

He played in one game last year, so he will use the trasnfer year as a redshirt season. Beck could begin practice as soon as this weekend.

As a high school senior, Beck completed 118 of 182 passes for 1,695 yards and 11 touchdowns with six interceptions in 10 games.

The Wolfpacker hopes to have more later.
