2013 postseason: None
Coach: Chris Collins 4-4 overall and at Northwestern (first year)
Series: NC State leads 3-1.

Northwestern: The 2012-2013 season went south after current redshirt junior wing JerShon Cobb was suspended for the season due to academics, and current fifth-year senior shooting guard Drew Crawford suffered a season-ending shoulder injury and only played in 10 games. Power forward and former Louisville player Jared Swopshire also suffered a key injury. The result was 13-19 overall and 4-14 in the Big Ten, and coach Bill Carmody was fired New coach Chris Collins played at Duke and was an assistant coach for the Blue Devils. He grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago and attended Glenbrook North High, and his father, former NBA player and coach Doug Collins, was the coach of the Chicago Bulls from 1986-1989 Crawford, who graduated and could have transferred, is back for his fifth year, and so is Cobb. However, Crawford did suffer a minor injury against Missouri Nov. 28, and didn't play in the Wildcats' last game against UCLA the next day Crawford and junior point guard David Sobolewski form the All-Naperville, Ill., backcourt together. Crawford went to the public school, Naperville Central, while Sobolewski went to the nearby private school Benet Academy, where he played with Wisconsin center Frank Kaminsky Crawford averaged 16.1 points per game and shot 41.2 percent from three-point land during his last healthy full season in 2011-2012. The sharpshooter had a career-high 34 points against Creighton on Dec. 22, 2011 Sobolewski has struggled from the field, 34.4 percent, but is a three-year starter for the Wildcats. He had 25 points and four three-pointers in a 93-58 win over Illinois-Chicago on Nov. 20 Cobb averaged 7.1 points and shot 31.1 percent from three-point land in 2011-2012 prior to his suspension. The Decatur, Ga., product is shooting 43.3 percent from beyond the arc this season, and had 22 points in back-to-back games against Missouri and UCLA in Las Vegas Sophomore Sanjay Lumpkin has become a jack of all trades in his first year as a starter. He had 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the win over UIC Sophomore center Alex Olah of Romania is a hulking 7-0 and 265 pounds, and has cracked double digits in three games this season. He had a career-high 18 points, six rebounds and five blocks, in a 72-59 win against Gardner-Webb on Nov. 25. Olah reached double figures in eight games last year, including a season-high 16 against Stanford on Dec. 21, 2012 Sophomore shooting guard Tre Demps, who is the son of former NBA player Dell Demps (1993-1997), sophomore small forward Kale Abrahamson and freshman forward Nathan Taphorn, would help fill the void if Crawford misses the game. Abrahamson hit five three-pointers and scored 19 points in the 95-79 loss to UCLA in Las Vegas, while Demps added 15.
