Wide receiver Kyrin Priester, a former Georgia commitment from Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood High, confirmed via text message Sunday afternoon that he has verbally committed to NC State.
Priester, 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, took an official visit to NC State this weekend and watched the Pack's 17-16 upset of No. 3 Florida State Saturday evening. Accompanying Priester on his visit was his former Lake Mary (Fla.) High teammate and NCSU verbal Jerod Fernandez, a linebacker.
After he decommitment from Georgia in the summer, Priester narrowed his choices to NC State and South Carolina. Wolfpack defensive backs coach Mike Reed was Priester's primary recruiter.
He is rated by Rivals.com as a three-star prospect, the No. 48 player in Georgia and No. 70 wide receiver nationally in the 2013 class. Priester caught 31 passes for 565 yards and five touchdowns as a junior at Lake Mary.
Priester is NCSU's 19th known verbal commitment and second from the state of Georgia, joining Peach State running back Joshua Mercer from South Effingham High in Guyton, Ga.
