Below is a transcript of NC State freshman shooting guard Jaqawn Raymond's video interview:
How has NC State been for you
"It's been great and I've learned a lot of new things. The coaches are great, my teammates have been great and everything is great so far."
What has surprised you about the campus?
"It's much bigger than I thought it was in fall than in the summer. There are a whole bunch more people."
How have you been doing in the fall workouts?
"I've been doing good, working hard. I'm dedicated and determined. I'm trying to get on the court like everybody else is."
Which players have been helping you out?
"C.J. Williams has. He has taught me a lot actually. He has taught me how to be a better person and teammate on the court."
What do you think you'll add to the team this season?
"Motivation, the will to win, just an overall enthusiastic person."
How far have you come in the last year when you reflect back?
"I've come a lot. I've gotten stronger, quicker, more athletic, more versatile and I'm really a lot better than last year."
What are you looking forward to for the first game of the season?
"The fans, just the fan base period."
What do you want to improve upon?
"Playing defense, getting rebounds and get down the floor and get open shots."
What positions have you been playing?
"Shooting guard basically. I might play some point guard, I don't know."
What has it been like to go against Lorenzo Brown and Alex Johnson?
"It's been competitive. When practice starts, they are really competitive. They go hard every practice. That is great for me when it comes to game time."
What would you like to say to NC State fans?
"Come out and support us. We are going to surprise a bunch of people this year."
