Verbal commitment No. 10 came Tuesday when center Desmond Roberts of Northampton West High in Gaston, N.C., picked NC State over offers from North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Maryland among others. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, and he is the ninth in-state player to pick NC State as their collegiate choice.
