Tight end Phillips talks about verbal to UVa
It has been a busy few weeks for Bethesda (Md.) Georgetown Prep standout Colter Phillips. The 6-foot-6, 233-pound tight end visited Virginia twice in that period, picked up three scholarship offers and made a visit to Stanford. On Sunday afternoon, however, Phillips ended his recruitment by giving a verbal pledge to Al Groh and Virginia. CavsCorner caught up with Phillips for an in-depth discussion about his reasons for the early decision.
"First of all, I made my list of schools heading in with a refined set of criteria. I was looking for a great football situation but not at the expense of a great education," said Phillips. "Because of that, I had limited my list of schools to pretty much Virginia, Stanford, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Boston College."
