New staff has opened Davin Bellamy's eyes
Chamblee (Ga.) star defensive end Davin Bellamy was being recruited by Tom O'Brien and the old NC State coaching staff early in the process. However, they wanted to switch the 6-foot-5, 240-pound three-star to tight end or wide receiver, and he wanted to stay on the defensive side of the ball, where he could rush the passer.
Bellamy, the nation's No. 33 weakside defensive end and the No. 54 prospect in his home state, committed to Florida State in August. However, the Seminoles have had several coaches leave, including Dameyune Craig, who recruited him, and defensive ends coach D.J. Eliot, so he is still looking at a few other programs.
