Brandon Phelps has grown used to landing big-time scholarship offers, so hearing that Notre Dame was joining the mix came as no surprise. But he still got a kick out of it. The Irish offered the 6-foot, 175-pound prospect from Damascus, Md., as an athlete and could earn a visit during the next few months. Phelps wants to finish up the recruiting process before his senior season.
